  37. Note : many users had some problems with the gtlayout.library when
  38. using the prefs requester. Please tell me if it works now (with
  39. your library number) or not.

  41. Requirements:
  42. -------------
  43. Hardware
  44. - MC68020 or higher
  45. - AGA chipset or GFX card recommended for high screen resolutions.
  46.  
  47. Software
  48. - AmigaOS v39 (system 3.0) or higher
  49. - gtlayout.library. This library is not supplied in the package.
  50.  
  51. Installation:
  52. -------------
  53. Just drag the AmiPCB drawer where you want... Delete the catalogs
  54. drawer if you don't want to write a new catalog or if you don't
  55. need the french one (the lonely one that is present for the moment).
  56. If you don't have the gtlayout.library, got it on Aminet.
  57. You will find two or three examples in the Boards drawer, the
  58. AmiCAD drawer contains some sheets.

  60. Documentation:

  62. No doc at all for the moment. I'll write one only if I get some
  63. good feedbacks for the program (I accept all your donations: CD,
  64. PowerPC cards, Picasso card, laser printer...) or anything else
  65. that can be usefull (money included) !

  67. Limitations, technical notes:
  68. -----------------------------
  69. The program has been successfully tested under OS3.5 without any
  70. problem. Printing works fine on my HPDeskjet printer, it will not
  71. work on a printer with a vertical density not equal to the horizontal
  72. density (Eg 300x300 dpi works fine but I think 300x600 will not work,
  73. so select the correct mode on your preferences printer).
  74. The card can be more than 30cm large or even more (not tested, but
  75. you'll get some problem to print it, as the program needs a lot
  76. of memory to draw the entire virtual screen, printing is done in one pass).
  77. The program can handle several documents in the same session, each
  78. new one is handled by a separate new task, so you can print a
  79. board, and work on another one.
  80. You can define the prefs to use or not the Workbench screen, but
  81. working on the Workbench will only work well, only if you have
  82. the good colors available, if you can't see the PCB board (tracks,
  83. pads and so on) in the AmiPCB window, use a separate screen (the
  84. ObtainBestPen function seems to work not perfectly on my system...)
  85. Using the program will not be too difficult if you were using AmiCAD:
  86. the look and feel is the same.

  90. If you write a catalog, please send me it or send it to Aminet, so other
  91. users can use it also. If you create some interesting clips (components)
  92. send me also them, I'll try to join them in the next release (if there
  93. is one, one day).
  94. If you are an english native language user, please send me your remarks
  95. about my menus, requesters, etc, perhaps I don't use the correct words
  96. for some actions or descriptions...

  98. Note to CyberVision users
  99. -------------------------
  100. The program works pretty well under CyberGraphX but there are some
  101. visual problems under this system: when you draw some objects
  102. with filled areas, like triangles or boxes, the complement mode
  103. doesn't work at all, so there are many traces on the screen.
  104. Use the * numeric key to redraw the screen and all will be corrected.
  105. This problem doesn't appear under Amiga native modes and with the
  106. Picasso system (it seems it's CyberVision specific, with a CyberVision
  107. 643D card under CyberGraphX).
  108. This bug has been reported to Phase 5 but there is no correction for
  109. the moment and there will be no one I think now, so buy a Picasso !
  110. (damned ! I didn't do it, bad choice !!!)...
